Also a black American, Lewis is a farmer and mail carrier. He ran in JJJ's district as an independent progressive a la Bernie Sanders. Lewis suggested that had JJJ done the plea deal BEFORE the elections Lewis would have won. WLS-TV summarizes his views in questionnaire format:

Does the country need immigration reform? If so, what are your plans?

I support the "DREAM ACT."

Can the budget deficit be controlled only by spending cuts or does the federal government need to raise more revenue? If you favor more revenue, should there be a general tax hike?

I advocate both spending cuts and raising more revenue. We have been living a very unrealistic mindset when it comes to the nation's fiscal house. I support cutting Defense spending and increasing tax rates on the Top 2% of wage earners including tax hikes on income through dividends as in people like Mitt Romney that makes money on money and not through wages. We cannot sustain this type of 'Top Heavy' benefits for the extremely wealthy when all they are doing is 'gaming' the system to the detriment to the bottom 99%. Case in point, a honeybee extracts. Nectar from a flower but unknowingly pollinates the flower so there will be a flower to extract from next year.

Do you believe there is global warming? If so, is any of it man made and can we do anything about it?

Yes, I believe there is global warming. It is all man made and those in the know, confirms it as so. It does not take a genius to see the world is hotter than it was decades before. Just look at the satellite views of Greenland ice cap in June of 2012 and it has "completely" melted in July 2012. We need honesty & candor on these subjects and not leaving spaces for denials because of it will affect business' bottom line. If we keep up this charade, only our children and our children's children will suffer because of cowardice thinking. We can find the solutions to our problems if statesman take the reins and lay aside foolish thinking we can be a greater nation for it.
