Florida has half the population of California but the same number of Covid deaths because of Florida's anemic response to the pandemic. The governor had kept those numbers secret but when a whistleblower revealed the truth, DeSantis sent the police after them, claiming that this information had been "stolen" even though it was accurate. And the surgeon general of Florida got his job claiming he had worked with covid patients at a California hospital, but physicians at that hospital have stated that Ladapo never worked with covid patients at that California hospital, and people who have tried to inquire about this with Florida authorities have been accused of trafficking in "conspiracy theories."
