and I'd like to still, but I've been disabused of that notion so thoroughly by now. I actually thought the entire party would go away after gwbush! but here we are.

it cannot be overstated how much the South is run on racism. people vote against their own best interests and the lowest common denominator pacifies them into voting for these FUCKS over and over. can't just blame it on the politicians, though they are very, very bad. or the media, which has failed this nation for sure. it's also the people.

I hope you're right, but I'm operating on the assumption that by 2024, we'll be a mirror image of the poorest, most ignorant, least educated, most racist, states in the country. NC used to be known as the jewel of the South, but now it's just another red blob on the map of the South.
