Democrat switches parties, giving GOP veto-proof majority in NC House

38. I seriously think this may be yet another tactic in the Republican playbook of dirt politics.

Republicans in one Florida district ran a fake progressive candidate to create a three-person vote and won the election. It’s entirely possible that they are now grooming candidates in purple states especially to pretend to be Democrats and then switch parties once elected. This possibility puts even more burdens on local parties to do deep background checks of potential candidates.

Whether Kristen Sinema was supported by Republicans who were grooming her for a switch is unknown, but her votes say she is no Democrat. She most likely switched to independent instead of Republican to keep her committee roles.
