8. I'm very skeptical that Putin and Prigozhin are not working in consort.

And always have. Its a rocky relationship, and it may have been pushed to an extreme last weekend, but they need each other.

Its a peculiarly Russian relationship. Which has developed in the paranoid, dog eat dog, violent atmosphere of Russian politics. Where its never about trust, its all about power plays and positioning oneself, and who one's allies are.

I think their conflict is mostly made up in an attempt to throw off Western and Ukraine intelligence. What I fear is that Putin/Prigozhin are going to build a big Wagner force in Belarus for a couple of reasons. To "stabilize" that regime against any resistance force building in that country in the wake of Ukraine's movement towards western style democracy, and help defeat any new plans to topple the government by pro-democracy forces within the country. And also as a new threat to Ukraine from the north. Which Putin/Prigozhin see as a new threat they can create and split Ukraine forces and weaken them at some point in the future.
