But that will just reinforce the view that they are monsters in time for the next election.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not excited to live in "interesting times". But a supposedly "sensible" Republican party would get about 70% of what they want. I want them remaining bat-shit crazy so they manage to pull off maybe 10% that is then quickly repealed.
