Israel countered that, and pushed them back, and as a result, capture the Golan heights where Syria had been launching missiles into Israel, and Jerusalem, where Jews previously were not allowed in.

It was the 6 days war, and as a result of that war, Israel was successful, and as a result of that war they gained territory, because that is the result of war.
