(96 posts)Although I was a really young kid when Jeannie originally ran on television, I was fascinated by the show. I can remember standing, crossing my arms and furiously nodding my head to help Jeannie fix things for Maj. Tony. I found myself humming the theme song just now. It's amazing how the shows of the 60s creep into your psyche and that even 40+ years later I still remember such a minute thing.
When he was on Dallas, it was an institution of my young adult years. You just weren't cool if you couldn't talk about the latest episode and what crazy thing J.R. did. I loved seeing Larry's twinkling eyes as he played the character with such relish. His mother was an acting institution on the stage and he was an icon of the small screen media.
RIP Larry, you deserve your rest. Thank you for helping to entertain my generation.
