In reply to the discussion: Trump encourages all states to send their troops to Texas to help Greg Abbott [View all]slightlv
(3,767 posts)He's even been overseas to "talk" and "negotiate" with foreign leaders, since we kicked him out of the WH. Isn't that fraudulently impersonating a president? Lord knows, he wants the honorific spoken each time someone addresses him. To him, it's more than just an archaic, polite way to refer to someone who once held the office. Like everything else, *rump abuses this tradition... and in so doing, makes it confusing as to who, in fact, IS running the country. What deals has he made behind our backs with what countries for "when" he "gets back into office?" I remember when this kind of thing was so frowned upon, we actually brought back legislators who walked too far over the federal line.
Between *rump doing things like this, and Abbott and De Santis ruling their states like mini-fiefdoms, separate from the U.S. (except for taking the federal money, of course), they're on a trajectory to force us into a true constitutional crisis. In fact, to my mind, Abbott already has put us there by ignoring federal law and the supreme court. We have to start reining in these mini-dictators and indicting them for insurrection... each and every one of them. Otherwise, I fear the states are going to break apart just by default. Never mind an official declaration of secession. We're letting them get away with way too much. The time to put a stop to it was a couple of years back, right after the WH insurrection. Now it's going to be so much harder, and probably cost way too much in heartache and manpower.
