I still believe the whole episode was bogus pearl-clutching, but it gives me hope that the judge ruled this way and allowed the two of them to determine the outcome. I believe the presiding judge probably supports Willis’ case overall and this was a way all parties could save face while still pursuing the charges against Trump. Yes, I know the judge is a Republican, but maybe he’s a Ken Buck/Liz Cheney Republican who understands Trump is a danger to democracy.
