In reply to the discussion: Questions raised over Trump profiting off his Secret Service detail while he campaigns [View all]littlemissmartypants
(34,631 posts)17. Well, that's good news.
But I'm more worried about the voting block than their candidates.
The country is marching toward a Trump-Biden rematch in November, but an April poll from Monmouth University found 60% of Americans aren't excited about it. It's unclear who those voters might support in November, and Libertarians are hoping they can be an attractive option.
"People are starting to recognize people who are smart that we are the most powerful voting bloc in the country, and we have the political power right now," McArdle* said. "What Libertarians and independent voters do is going to shape the election in 2024."

The share of voters who identify as independent or something else is somewhat higher than in the late 1990s and early 2000s. As a result, there are more leaners today than in the past. Currently, 15% of voters lean toward the Republican Party and 16% lean toward the Democratic Party. By comparison, in 1994, 27% of voters leaned toward either the GOP (15%) or the Democratic Party (12%).

Sounds like it's time to reduce Trump's Secret Service detail down until their hotel costs come under control.

Wasn't one of his presidential scams to always refuel in Scotland when he traveled internationally?
