Former President Donald Trump falsely claimed that Vice President Kamala Harris met with Russian President Vladimir Putin just days before the invasion of Ukraine.
However, there is no record of Harris and Putin ever meeting at all.
Speaking at a rally in North Carolina on Wednesday, Trump blamed his general election opponent for the Russian invasion launched in February 2022.

Harris attended the Munich Security Conference in Germany in February 2022 and delivered remarks on Feb. 19 in which she warned that Russia “will create a false pretext for invasion.” Putin did not attend the meeting. Just days later, Russia invaded.
As president, Biden has met with Putin once, at a summit in Geneva in June 2021. Harris was in the United States at the time. When asked in July 2022 if Putin had ever met with Harris, a Kremlin spokesperson said he had no record of any meeting between the two. There have been no known high-level meetings between the two nations since.
