2. The deadline to get on the ballot was the 1st Friday in August

For non major party candidates. I’m guessing, if you’ve done that it’s too late to withdraw because ballots have been drawn up, maybe even printed and it would be time consuming and expensive to change.

Additional: after further research, the NC elections board says 2 million ballots have been printed and absentee voting begins next Friday. I’m guessing RFK Jr does not want to pay to have all the ballots redesigned and reprinted. Furthermore, his appeal is going to be moot in just a few days.
