an example I saw on my timeline this afternoon is from the midwest. They had a list of things they suggested people donate, or cash to help buy these things. The comment was: "This is being coordinated 100% by a great man from our local community to directly impact his family and their friends that were effected by this disaster. No fema, no red cross, nothing but people directly helping people."
^^ There is nothing wrong with helping your family and friends. But to encourage the community to help you in this effort and use it as an opportunity to bad mouth organizations that do great work that affects all (not just personal family & friends) is disgusting. It was obviously a political statement that they couldn't refrain themselves from making. These are the people who support candidates like Donald Trump. They are selfish people who will only lend a hand if they've decided they personally like you. This is the entire reason we have a government. To band together to help each other - and that includes ALL of us, not just the few that you've decided are worthy through your church or whatever.
