Remember how early in the pandemic, Trump did not really want to lift a finger because COVID initially was hitting the more densely populated blue states. For example, even as thousands of people died in New York, his home state, he saw it as a Blue State problem and thought it was unfair to spend federal monies to save lives in Blue States? It was only when the deaths soared in red states that Trump suddenly wanted to dump money on providing aid to impacted states. Indeed, Trump's misinformation that COVID was a "blue state problem" helped feed into red states being much more lax in responding to COVID, which resulted over time to higher death rates per 100,000 from 2020 to 2023 with a state like Florida eventually overtaking NY, which was devastated early in the pandemic.

Hundreds of thousands of people died due to Covid under his watch and due to his desire for revenge and payback, yet Republicans want to suggest that Biden/Harris are not responding appropriately to Hurricane? Did everyone forget how Trump also stalled aid to Puerto Rico, because he saw no point, since they have no electoral votes, and his foot dragging helped lead to close 3,000 dead due to the Hurricane.

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump said that increased federal funding to help states recover from the coronavirus pandemic is unfair to Republicans, “because all the states that need help — they’re run by Democrats in every case.”
“You look at Illinois, you look at New York, look at California, you know, those three, there’s tremendous debt there, and many others,” Trump said in an interview with the New York Post published Monday.
By contrast, “Florida is doing phenomenal, Texas is doing phenomenal, the Midwest is, you know, fantastic — very little debt,” Trump said.
“I don’t think the Republicans want to be in a position where they bail out states that are, that have been mismanaged over a long period of time,” the president said.
