First, no one has lied! A campaign promise is a goal that is to be worked towards. But as with, everything in life, circumstance, and in this case, governance, often interferes with one's ability accomplish all or some of that goal/promise.
And secondly, because you know what the alternative is. Would you rather have someone in governance that accomplishes something, in the right direction; or someone that accomplsihes anything in the wrong direction?
