Labrador's greatest hit came in a Transportation Committee hearing on truckers' hours of service. The HOS regulation is majorly screwed up, and you know it's broken when every stakeholder in the trucking industry -- drivers, trucking companies, the Teamsters, trucking associations, safety advocacy groups, state regulators and the federal government - says the rule is broken. I don't think you could get Joe Trucker, Joe's company, the American Trucking Association, the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association, the Teamsters, the New York State Police, Parents Against Tired Truckers and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to agree truck tires are round, but they all agree HOS is fucked. Labrador sat in a meeting and told these people HOS was fine, they just need to enforce it.
