I'm afraid the 2014 and 2016 elections will be brutal, even if no major gun control measures get passed this time. Make no mistake: the NRA LOVES this. It's red meat for them, a way to scare people into giving them more donations and voting as they want them to vote. The past 4 years have been horrible for them, simply because Obama and the Democrats largely stayed silent on gun control.

If there's one thing that can mobilize the GOP base, it's gun control.
