I'm always happy with this news, but another part of my brain wonders why so many places in the country have to feel a republican-fueled crisis before they elect a Democrat for one cycle before switching back. I think of Alabama just barely electing Democrat Doug Jones Senator in a 2017 special election because his republican opponent was a child rapist (those were the days). Two years later they elected a complete simpleton with name recognition who had an "r" in front of his name in news chyron. But we'll see. Maybe this guy can keep his district blue. .
