6. I don't recall seeing any of the usual promotional items this year

Normally we are inundated with pledge forms, catalogs, etc. This year, nothing. The 43-day timeout we all took in October-November may have had something to do with that, but maybe people are just making their donations directly to the organizations they want to support. I know that's what I'm doing.
