In reply to the discussion: Donald Trump Attacks Kennedy Family on Truth Social Hours After Death of JFK's Granddaughter Tatiana Schlossberg [View all]ShazzieB
(22,189 posts)There's an empty hole in the middle of him for sure. From everything I've read about his family and upbringing (thanks, Mary), it's clear that this is a man who has never experienced love. He doesn't know what it feels like to be loved, much less how it feels to truly love another person. As a result, he desperately craves love and approval, and his reaction to people who are truly beloved is a vile, toxic resentment.
I was just reading some of the comments on the People Magazine article, and one of the commenters mentioned how much loved JFK was. And it's true; no matter what you may think of his handling of any particular issue or of his persinal failings, for a little while the country was in love with that man and with his beautiful wife and adorable children. Schlump is a few years older than me and probably remembers all of that even better than I do. I'm sure he also remembers the huge outpouring of grief that came after JFK was assassinated, and he is fully aware on some level that the reaction to his own death is going to be very, very different. As a result, he despises JFK and everything associated with him, except for one particular nephew that sits in his cabinet. (I'm sure he's aware that RFK Jr has a lot of haters, which probably makes it easier for Schlump to tolerate him.)
