"US-made pasta (like Barilla, De Cecco, Mueller's) is generally cheaper, costing around $1-$2/box, whereas Italian imports (Garofalo, Rummo, La Molisana, premium brands), especially those facing recent tariffs (late 2025), are significantly pricier, often $3-$6+ per box, due to production quality (bronze-cut), ingredient standards, import duties (potentially 100%+), and higher shipping costs, creating a noticeable price gap for consumers. "

My own supermarket noticeably places the more expensive stuff on lower shelves by the premium tomato and other Italian products.

Noticeably there was a glut of lasagna pasta out for the holidays, last yr they were out

Its almost like they American companies were creating a shortage to raise prices....humm
