5. Frankly as an Italian

I'm kind of tired of the British superiority complex. Any time a British rag talks about Italy, it's always in demeaning tones. Look, Italy is as messed up as any other country out there. Yes, Italy can be governed and yes, there are some good politicians in Italy who actually care about the people they represent. Berlusconi is one exception. The Northern League is also an exception, though some of their gripes do have some basis in fact.

Berlusconi is messed up in many ways and I would hope the Italian electorate has had enough of him by now and won't once again give in to him (as it is well known that the Mafia is behind him). If not, it will be the same as the Brits giving in to Maggie Thatcher or the USians giving in to George W. Bush.

This stereotypical view of Italy is really getting old and tired.
