Looting, Extortion, and Kidnapping, accomplished through Terror, is how these bandits fund themselves. Boko Haram adds fundamentalist Islam to the mix.

Given Borgu State's location on Nigeria's west border with Benin, it's likely not Boko Haram. Boko Haram is to the far Northeast.
