Newsom Vows to Stop Proposed Billionaire Tax in California

7. This is very upsetting

On balance, I feel Gavin Newsom has been one of the best governors our state has had in my lifetime.

That said, he sometimes gives me SERIOUS pause and I really hope he is NOT our 2028 nominee for prez because, TBH, I don't think he can win nationally. Many people outside the state think he's a flaming "libt@rd" and blame him for not being able to fix things that pre-date his term (like homelessness or the failed bullet train). At the same time, many of us here are troubled by some of his less-than-progressive takes on certain things.

I love the fire he brings against the current regime (proving that the "when they go low..." ship sailed long ago), but I don't appreciate his stance on trans people or his platforming of extremists on his podcast.

HOW does not making billionaires pay their fair share help anyone but the 1%????
