the people of Minnesota need to shut down completely except for health care and emergency services. When nobody is coming in to work at 3M, Target etc. at their corporate offices/shipping locations and at Target stores, Walmart stores, grocery warehouses, etc. the revenue hits to those companies will be immediate.

The big majors like Walmart and Target have their computer systems tracking the incoming money down to the nanosecond. When big numbers of those registers aren't tallying a sale for long periods during business hours that major drop will ring alarm bells at corporate. Think of the impact to Target if their sales fall by 25% or more for a significant stretch of days. Likewise Walmart.
