5. Wow, good analysis

Yeah, I don't know what will break human kind's hypnotic obsession for "leaders" and kings. We don't need leaders to tell us what to do. And I was a 20 year military member. But even in that environment, leadership was not necessarily useful in achieving the mission.

It's amazing how much our social training has influenced our perception of how societies function and evolve. We attribute so much to individuals that just happen to be around when society shifts.

There's a common misperception that herds just follow a lead male or female. But what really happens is that little by little each herd member turns towards their preferred direction. And when enough of the herd is facing one direction, that's when they move. Unless startled or chased, there is just gradual agreement on which way to go. No leader necessary. And especially no overbearing, authoritarian leader is necessary.
