Trump blames 'bad public relations people' on not selling economic wins [View all]

President Trump on Tuesday acknowledged his administration was having trouble selling his economic wins, at one point saying it could be the result of “bad public relations people.”

“The numbers that we inherited were way up, and now we brought them, almost all of them, way down, way down,” Trump told reporters from the White House briefing room where he made an appearance to mark exactly one year in office.

“I mean… maybe you have bad public relations people, but we’re not getting it across. We inherited high numbers, and we brought them way down,” he continued, appearing to lay the blame on his staff for not selling his agenda effectively to the public.

Trump has struggled with poll numbers when it comes to how Americans are feeling on the economy with stubborn inflation holding steady at 2.7.
