This would explain a lot. I was surprised by how smoothly things went.

I have no doubt that our Special Forces units are good. However, there is a difference between doing an operation in some remote village in an underdeveloped nation, and snagging a world leader from his palace in the interior of the country.

Why weren’t the helicopters detected? Why weren’t anti-aircraft measures deployed? Venezuela isn’t some poor failed nation-state… They might not have a huge state of the art military, but defensive systems are cheaper than tanks and helicopters.
