Once again, we find ourselves in a position where the leader of the Executive Branch is doing something so outrageous that we all say, "isn't that illegal?" But it's not because no one ever took seriously the possibility that a sitting president would sue his own government for personal "harm".

This is wrong on so many levels - conflict of interest and executive immunity are just two. But I bet the current courts will find there are no laws against it, or if there are the don't apply to the Old Man for some reason.

I also think the government lawyers will somehow find a reason to "settle" quickly for a massive taxpayer-funded payoff to the old Man's private coffers.

Once we retake the government, we need serious reform of and limits to presidential powers. I had really hoped that would have been Biden top priority when he took office, but it didn't happen. I can only hope the next Democratic president will take up this cause.
