Christie killed a similar project as governor and used the earmarked funds to pay for short falls in the New Jersey budget.
If he hadn't done that the tunnel would be finished and both New Jersey and New York would be profiting from it.
Trump might just want the money, but it's more likely he also wants to fuck over two states that voted against him.
