Not because people don't deserve to be paid what they are actually worth but because companies just simply raise prices to offset it.
Now what is needed is a carrot and stick approach by using tax incentives by raising the corporations taxes and only lowering the amount based upon the number of people who are earning at anything over 250% of what the poverty level based around the the Federal or State poverty level.
And the kicker is the tax for the poverty level defaults to whatever is higher so as to reduce the Republicans ability to block it.
