Dearborn Heights man charged with making racist threats against Obama

A Dearborn Heights man has been charged with making racist threats against President Obama and the Federal Communications Commission.

James Allen Myers, 37, a registered sex offender, told authorities he made the calls because he was angry about the "filthy sex and perversion" on television, according to a criminal complaint filed Thursday.

Myers made the threats during a series of phone calls Dec. 9 and 10 to FCC and National Geographic Channel offices in Washington, the Secret Service said in the complaint.

"I'm gonna hang our. . .president from a tree outside the White House with a burning cross and a swastika on the lawn," the caller told National Geographic.
