That said, I did continue to notice the approval numbers really started to decline steadily and never go up after his first year in office. He had some marvelous legislative achievements and the right wing couldn't wait to deluge the airwaves and social media with lies and exaggerations about his negatives. Biden was truly unlucky in that he did well with the economy--the U.S. economy was doing better than most other nations and he never got the credit he deserved for that. The Felon's horrific mismanagement of the coronavirus sadly also hurt him, since that was the reason the economy did not improve--it was not because of any Biden policies, though the MAGAts especially continued to distort things and lie with reckless abandon about him.
However, I do fault him for not bowing out after his first term. One thing that he and the Felon had in common was that they were both too old and the voters should have chosen a younger candidate. Harris did the best she could and given JB's declining ratings, would have been better off to voice disagreements on some policies. He should have realized the combination of his age and poor approval ratings were going to be tough to sell to the voters and he realized it much too late.
But it's all under the bridge and the American public was buffaloed again into electing an unqualified, disruptive candidate with little regard for norms or the Constitution. And the sycopants in his own party continue to, when he says, "Jump," respond, "How high?"
He is a true authoritarian figure and it is sad that so many cannot realize that when the obvious proof is there if they just use their brains.
