And you’re right. Major medical/catastrophic plans were commonly available up until 2014. According to what I read, they were an attractive way for relatively healthy people to save money.

I wish that arrangement were still an option. Insurance companies could create all kinds of products to protect people on the high side in case of a car wreck, cancer diagnosis, heart attack, etc. And with a premium no where as expensive as many bronze plans.

I fully expect the US will go single payer some day but too late for my generation.
