7. Not to be rude, but when was the last time you were there?

The seafront is fine. But the downtown is seriously grim and very indiciative of decades of deprivation, which is really sad. My other half used to live nearby and we recently took his sons out for lunch down there. It's not totally atrocious in the summer, but good lord is it very "zombie apocalypse"-like the rest of the year.

To be fair to Clacton, though, we live near a much nicer nearby seaside town in Suffolk, so it's probably not right to compare the two.
