(20,450 posts)33. I will continue to argue that Brown's victory was merely luck. Tea Party movement AND
support for his candidacy; a horrible Democratic Party candidate (we must not allow that to happen again); and overall apathy in the electorate.
The guy just got lucky. He looks great, talks a good game, and benefitted from the bad feelings in the electorate at the time, plus a totally inept Democratic Party candidate (we must not let than happen again).

The two cases are very different and McCain never swiftboated Kerry - he even defended him once
