Then it was a case that their party could lose the Presidency. This time it confirming an Obama SOS. ANY SOS picked would implement Obama's foreign policy and would be someone who agreed with him. The SENATE REPUBLICANS, as contrasted to the talking heads and their followers KNOW Kerry and respect him.
McCain and Corker were effusive in their praise of Kerry's handling of the START treaty. Corker was the same speaking of Kerry's work in Afghanistan. Graham spoke of his respect for Kerry's ability, patriotism and character when they worked on climate change. I could list more. ALL of these are more than a year before Kerry was up for SOS and before Brown lost the seat.
