Apparently what really happens is that an extremely overweight person dies of a heart attack or massive stroke while smoking or handling a flame, the cigarette or candle or whatever falls beneath their clothes, so that they smoulder, fueled by their body fat. They don't spontaneously burst into flame for no reason while still alive.
