Nixon, the U.S. President, and Henry Kissinger, with the CIA engineered the entire coup, the run-up to the coup, and the evil aftermath, and that they poured millions of taxpayer dollars into Chilean news media prior to the Allende election, determined to smear Allende so badly he could never be elected, then, when that failed, to start tearing him apart, and they enlisted various unions in the country to strike, leaving food and merchandize stuck in trucks all over the country, and waiting in ships in the harbor to be unloaded, while it rotted, hoping that the mere suffering alone would drive the Chilean people to the point they would overthrow him.

When that didn't happen, they decided to get dirty, to get even more vicious, and that's when they got, after a series of murders, General Augusto Pinochet, and his mob of torturers, and sadistic sociopaths to start picking off the opposition.

The rest was NOT "history" here until declassified records started being opened.

People had no fucking idea and clearly you know it. They STILL don't know. Only the ones who have bothered to keep up conscientiously have any clue at all.
