Obama Tells Democrats They Must Be Open to Entitlement Changes

I'm so god damned tired of not knowing whom to trust.

I tell my son - when you find yourself struggling with a decision, re-evaluate your assumptions. You know the right thing to do, your confusion comes because some assumption you've made contradicts some reality you've seen. Don't doubt your own heart.

Obama is putting us in a position where we have to doubt our own hearts. We know what's right, and as much as our hearts want to believe that Obama does as well, the reality we are seeing tells us otherwise.

I want a party that represents my beliefs - highest respect for civil rights and economic justice, coupled with the courage to face down the strong and the character to stand up for the weak. Progressive, populist, and above all, liberal.

I am tired of trading in those qualities for a bucketful of pragmatism and compromise. I am tired of making excuses to myself.

I am so god damned tired...next come anger. Tomorrow may be fine again, but one day the anger will stay, and I won't be able to continue justifying this weak tea of compromised principles.
