3. I live in Alabama

The crazy right wing religionists have been pushing for abortion restrictions for decades. They will get even more restrictions passed in the State...no doubt about it. We fight but it is useless. In the end the legality of this will be challenged and decided by the SC, I assume.

Let me make a very honest point. I have three daughters. If any of my three daughters need an abortion they will get one. They will get a safe, professional abortion in a hospital or clinic by a competent professional. How can I be so sure? Well, because I will drive or fly them to a state where this will happen. Simple as that.

Now, let's be clear. I'm a liberal with modest means who is saying outright that my children will not be denied. I know that conservatives with modest means who support such crazy anti-choice legislation will also make sure their daughters and/or wives will be able to get an abortion (and believe me they will). Who does this hurt the most? The poorest in our state, that's who. In Alabama, that means that a very very large portion of the population will be hurt by anti-choice legislation. The bible thumping tsk-tskers who have money to fly their daughter to Atlanta will be inconvenienced.

Stupid, stupid State.
