5. I'll predict that the President's strategic re balance (Pacific pivot) is history. Secretary Hagel,

in his 1st week in office, tasked the Deputy Secretary and Joint Chief's Chairman to look at it and report back, by the end of May, whether budget realities would allow the shift. My intuition is that the President said words to the effect that "I was wrong to imply we could shift our defense focus from Al Qaeda, their Affiliates and Adherents to China; however, I'm never going to say that. Instead, you're going to report back to me that the budget won't support the pivot."
