his "Farewell Tour".

I've got a pretty good George Jones story. Back in 1979 when he was really going hard and crazy with cocaine, alcohol, and paranoia, my buddy and I were coming home from a gig at about 3 AM. We were stopped at the light at Harding and Linbar, when this big assed Caddy pulled up beside us. My buddy looked over and said " Hey, that's George Jones!" I looked over and, sure as hell, it was. Well, we were normally pretty blasé about country stars, but come on, this was George Jones, so we started waving and pointing and generally acting fools. He looked over, pulled out this big pistol, held it up, and rolled down his window and said, "You boys want something?" We didn't even blink, we just said "No sir, Mr. Jones, we just love your music." The light picked that moment to turn green and he zipped off down the road.
