In reply to the discussion: Medical marijuana activists' children taken from home, charges possible [View all]Proletariatprincess
(718 posts)The report indicates that it is the cop on the scene who determines whether children should be taken from their homes and families. In this case, it is clearly vindictive on the part of the cops.
I don't trust cops. I haven't for very many years despite being Irish and having a few cops in the family. They call themselves the Good Guys and feel entitled to impose their moral guardianship on the rest of us. For most of us, the moral righteousness takes the form in a pompus lecture about safety from the traffic cop. For many, it is the reason they become cops. But I guess it never occured to me that cops can take your children away. I thought Child Protection Services had to make that determination. But CPS is in the thrall of the cops too, so this whole thing is just too disturbing. How do we ensure against abuses like this in the future?
Maybe they really are considering Orphanages for Profit. There was a Congresscritter (REpublican of course) a few years ago who actually raised the issue of bring back orphanages but he was pretty much dismissed as a nutjob. But maybe that was just a trial balloon.
If they succeed, our serfdom will be complete.
