4. Makes people vote Republican

I know it's a seriously bad drug, but it does oddly parallel the effects of voting Republican for low info working people captured by
Fox News/Koch/Rove propaganda machine: "makes victims compliant and happy to say or do anything their captors tell them to...
it's victims lose their grasp on reality and often wind up with their bank accounts drained, their belongings stolen and a massive hangover." Yeah, that sounds pretty similar to the effect of voting Republican if you're in the 99%.
