The people in Tahrir square didn't want a democracy; they wanted democracy overthrown, and they got what they wanted.

They have tried to hamstring and sabotage the Morsi government from the beginning, and largely succeeded in bringing Egypt to a screaming halt. Now they have a Mubarek crony and the generals leading their country.

If they wanted democracy, they would have voted Morsi and the MB out in the next elections. Instead, they wanted mob rule, and they got it, thanks to the military.
