The deal also includes the Democratic leadership's support for the House farm aid bill (the one without food stamps) and Republican plans to privatize Medicare and make abortion illegal after twenty weeks of pregnancy. As Senator Reid said in response to reporters' questions, "You get something and you give something in return."
Of course I'm just kidding, though something much like this would not really surprise me.
