Even Ted Kennedy, the Liberal Lion of the Senate, knew when to cut the deal. I've just never seen Weiner's name on anything--he likes to talk, he apparently doesn't like to do the tough work of crafting legislation. All I've ever seen of him are news clips where he delivers clever repartee about issues--usually with FauxSnooze anchors ("Megyn, Megyn" comes to mind). That's not a resume for a legislator--that's more like a PR flak.
Granted, I am not from NYC, and I am an advocate of letting people pick their own politicians, good or bad. All politics IS local. He just never impressed me by his deeds. I knew by his words that he'd vote the right way, but I never saw any works that suggested he'd carry the ball down the field. More of a fan than a player, if you will...!
