It's precisely what you get when you can't possibly imagine any reason that anybody could even possibly read material that he doesn't agree with.

If you read RW material, you must be RW.

If you read LW material, you can only be LW.

You see the thinking here. If you've ever heard or read something from one of the Unclean you are permanently defiled as a RW stooge, shill, sockpuppet.

It's like everybody's gotta be friggin' monks. You must remain pure and undefiled or spend an eternity in purgatory. It shows a special kind of narrow-mindedness seen also in some fundie Xians, a smallness of mind and thinking that must be a applied not only to those who wish to remain undefiled by their own acts, but also remain pure from any guilt by association from somebody who is defiled. The one with the best understanding of the "enemy" is the one who's never read a word he's written, never met one, never even tried to figure out what he believes and why he might consider himself reasonable--and, furthermore, never wants to.

Notice what most of the anti-Muslim sites do. They read and examine stuff written by Muslims. They read that Ramadan is the "month of Jihad." They see the Muslim snuff videos out there. They read the Muslim hate literature calling for Muslim supremacy and oppression of the West. When they doubted Arafat ever wanted peace they didn't cite him in English--they found translations of him screaming, in conclusion of a peace-filled sermon in English lamenting a suicide bombing in Jerusalem, for a million martyrs to go to Jerusalem. I mean, the stuff is there--only idiots deny that it exists. But then the anti-Muslim sites generalize it to all Muslims and make their leap of logical fantasy.

Of course, the BBC would have to say that since those anti-Muslim sites actually have Muslim "material" in their possession, they're actually all Muslims after all.

RW lit often decries Muslims. If you are a Muslim and want to hate Americans, want to see exactly how bad they are, you read the stuff that calls for Muslim oppression and generalize it to all Americans. Most American RW terrorists strike targets they want dead; so do Muslim terrorists. You bomb a federal building because you strike against the federal government; you bomb abortion clinics because you don't like abortionists. You strike against the spectators at a marathon because ... you don't like spectating? Running?
